Trader Joe’s already has a solid cheesecake lineup with Japanese-style cheesecakes and even cheesecake cones. And now they’ve added Basque-style to the mix. I spotted it in the freezer section, labeled ‘impossibly creamy,’ and had to find out if it actually lived up to the label. Is Trader Joe’s Basque Style Cheesecakes a hit or a miss?

Product Overview
Each box runs $4.99 and comes with two individual round cheesecakes, each wrapped in its own paper liner.

Taste Test & Review
Since it was in the frozen section, these cheesecakes require thawing. It is advised to thaw them in the fridge for four hours. I tried one cheesecake with the thawing instructions and one by microwaving it in increments. They both came out the same way. So if you are impatient like me, you can also do that. One downside to this product was the small size. As for the taste, it did live up to its ‘impossibly creamy’ claim. It was very creamy and melted in my mouth. The burnt top had a nice, subtle caramelized flavor. Each bite wasn’t too sweet and was perfectly balanced. I would definitely get this again.
