Tom Kha is a Thai coconut chicken soup. Kevin’s Thai-Style Coconut Chicken Soup celebrates the traditional flavors of Tom Kha, as coconut—specifically coconut milk—is a staple ingredient in Thai cuisine. Kevin’s Natural Foods is a brand that claims to make healthy and easy-to-prepare meals. Founded in 2012, Kevin’s has released a variety of products. You can find this soup at Costco, Target, H-E-B, Whole Foods, and other popular grocery stores. Today, we will be reviewing Kevin’s Thai-Style Coconut Chicken Soup; however, they also offer a Thai-Style Coconut Chicken entrée (a non-soup version, usually eaten with rice).
Who is Kevin’s?
Kevin’s is a company that makes ready-to-eat meals that you can simply heat and serve. Their mission is to create food that helps people feel good. The founder, Kevin, started the company after discovering that improving his diet with whole foods and eliminating refined sugar helped heal his autoimmune disorder when conventional medicine could not. Most of the proteins in their meals are also cooked sous vide, making them very tender.
Kevin’s Thai-Style Coconut Chicken Soup Rating
Kevin’s Thai-Style Coconut Chicken Soup was full of flavor and definitely reminded me of Thai cuisine. The soup was rich and creamy, just like Tom Kha. It had a slight sweetness, as you would expect from Tom Kha. If I were served this at a restaurant, I probably wouldn’t have been disappointed. This product is sold as a two-pack bundle at Costco for $10.99. You can also find a single package of the soup at Sprouts grocery store for $10.99.
The chicken was tender and juicy due to being cooked sous vide. I recommend this soup if you come across it. It was quick and easy to prepare and, overall, a delicious meal. I highly recommend preparing the soup on the stovetop for the best results
