Purple Rice Austin is a new Korean Grab and Go; giving a fresh take literally and figuratively to the food takeout space. When you first enter Purple Rice, you can immediately notice the stoves where the food is prepared. If you are lucky, you can see some food being prepared! The concept resembles a quick mart or 7-Eleven; grab a grocery basket, shop around the food prep area, and checkout! Purple Rice serves Korean staples like kimbap (rice rolls like sushi), beef soup, bibimbap (mixed rice bowls), ramen, and tteokbokki (spicy stir-fried rice cakes). Purple Rice has an assortment of snacks and drinks to enhance the premade meals. They may also have samples of the homemade Rice Krispy treats. The first and only location is at the Arbor Walk Plaza in Austin, TX.

Bibimbap
The fresh veggies were crisp and sliced. You have all the veggies and ingredients in a tray held within the bowl. The meat was tender and the meal was light. It was simple to mix and combine.
Bulgogi
The meat was flavorful and typical to what you would get at any Korean restaurant. I enjoyed the side dishes in the meal, especially the potatoes!
