If you are planning a weekend trip to Dallas, these are the food spots I would recommend visiting. From must-try local favorites to hidden gems, this guide covers all the restaurants and cafes worth adding to your itinerary so you can make the most of your weekend.
Neko Yubu
Cuisine: Japanese
Ambiance: Take-out Only
1499 Regal Row #105, Dallas, TX 75247
Neko Yubu specializes in stuffed tofu pockets, also known as inari, topped with a variety of delicious fillings. You can mix and match different flavors and have them packed into a cute box. My personal favorites are the Egg Inari and the Torched Salmon Inari. The egg filling is rich and creamy, while the torched salmon is buttery and topped with a flavorful torched mayonnaise that adds a smoky, savory finish. Heads up, this is a take-out-only spot.

Mike’s Chicken
Cuisine: American
Ambiance: Casual
4234 Maple Ave, Dallas, TX 75219
Mike’s Chicken is one of my all-time favorite fried chicken spots and one of the highest-rated in Dallas—for good reason. The chicken is always fried to perfection with an incredibly crispy, golden crust, while the meat stays tender, juicy, and packed with flavor in every bite.

NAJU MYEONOK TX
Cuisine: Korean
Ambiance: Casual
2625 Old Denton Rd #320, Carrollton, TX 75007
Naju Myeonok is one of the few spots in Dallas serving soy sauce-marinated raw crab, and it’s absolutely worth ordering. The portions are generous for the price, making it a great value. While none of the dishes were particularly mind-blowing, everything was solid and tasted like comforting, home-style Korean cooking. The soy-marinated crab was the standout; it was rich and creamy.

Yorienn Chicken
Cuisine: Korean
Ambiance: Pocha Vibes
4070 State Hwy 121 #320, Carrollton, TX 75010
This is hands-down the best Korean fried chicken in DFW. It is so good that Yorienn Chicken earned the #76 spot on Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S. for 2025. My go-to order is the sweet and spicy sauce, but here’s my tip: order the chicken with the thinnest batter and get the sauce on the side. I’ve tried it tossed in the sauce before, and the crispy coating became soggy pretty quickly. Keeping the sauce on the side lets you enjoy that perfectly crunchy bite while dipping each piece to your liking.

Ida Claire
Cuisine: American
Ambiance: Spacious Southern
5001 Belt Line Rd, Dallas, TX 75254
This brunch spot completely lived up to the hype. The eggs Benedict served on jalapeño cornbread was an unexpected combination that worked perfectly, with just the right balance of savory and a subtle kick of heat. The lemon poppy seed pancakes were light, fluffy, and pleasantly airy instead of overly dense. Don’t skip the beef tallow fries. They were perfectly thin, incredibly crispy, and the ideal side to round out the meal at Ida Claire.
