This food trailer stands out for its Asian-inspired gelato flavors, a refreshing departure from the usual gelato lineup. The menu is full of fun, exciting combinations like mango sticky rice, yuzu watermelon sorbet, and black sesame cookies and cream, just to name a few.

The Story Behind Kessho
Co-founders Liang Wang and Mark Huetsch opened Kessho. The name “Kessho” means “crystal” in Japanese, paying homage to the crystalline texture of chocolate and to the idea that great rewards come from painstaking dedication to one’s craft. They’ve spent over a decade crafting Asian ingredients into Western-style desserts.
The Vibe
Kessho is a food trailer with multiple locations. The one I frequent has a spacious outdoor patio and sits next to the iconic burrito food trailer, Asados. It gets really crowded on weekends, and there’s easy street parking.
What I Ordered
Lychee Raspberry Rose | Guava Plum
Taste & Texture
Every gelato flavor I’ve tried tasted like it was made from real fruit and fresh ingredients. The gelato I ordered was fragrant and fruity, with a flavor that felt genuinely true to the fruit itself. And the texture was velvety smooth, almost silky on the tongue. The ice cream cookie sandwich was indulgent while the cookies were chocolatey with a nice chewy texture that contrasted so well with the soft ice cream.
