I had never even heard of a twice-baked croissant until Costco introduced their new bakery item: the Twice-Baked Chocolate Croissant. The concept is simple but clever: the first bake turns it into a classic croissant, and the second bake happens after it cools, often with a topping or glaze added. This extra step not only intensifies the flavor but also gives the exterior a satisfyingly crispy texture. So, how does Costco’s twice-baked chocolate croissant actually measure up? Let’s find out.

Product Overview
Each pack comes with six twice-baked croissants and costs $9.99. This item was found in the bakery section.

Upon the first bite, the powder-sugar-dusted croissant was incredibly crispy. Parts of the top and bottom were coated with a chocolate crumble that added extra texture. Inside, the filling was a chocolate–almond mixture that had a slightly gritty texture, and the flavor wasn’t very strong. Overall, I thought they were just okay. I wasn’t a big fan of the crumble; I would have preferred them without it. Even though it wasn’t my personal favorite, you might enjoy it yourself.
