Easy Taco Cheese Fries Recipe

Crispy air-fried seasoned fries topped with seasoned ground beef, melted American cheese, fresh tomatoes, onions, and cilantro, finished with a creamy avocado-lime yogurt sauce. A quick, loaded comfort food dish with bold taco flavors and a cheesy, creamy finish.

Ingredients

  • Fries
  • 1 –2 russet potatoes
  • 1 –2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Taco Beef
  • Lean ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Cheese & Toppings
  • American cheese slices
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Diced onions
  • Cilantro
  • Avocado Sauce
  • 1 avocado
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1/3 cup water adjust for consistency
  • Garlic powder to taste
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Peel (optional) and cut potatoes into fry shapes.
  • Soak in ice-cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  • Drain and pat completely dry.
  • Toss with olive oil, paprika, salt, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
  • Air fry at 385°F for 25–30 minutes, shaking every 5 minutes for even crisping.
  • Heat a pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Stir in taco seasoning and 2 tbsp water.
  • Cook for another 2–3 minutes until well coated and slightly saucy.
  • Blend avocado, Greek yogurt, lime juice, water, garlic powder, and salt until smooth and creamy.
  • Adjust water for desired thickness.
  • Add crispy fries to a plate.
  • Top with seasoned taco beef.
  • Place American cheese on top and microwave for ~10–15 seconds until melted.
  • Finish with diced tomatoes, onions, and cilantro.
  • Drizzle with avocado sauce.
