Chili Cheese Dog

Add delicious chili on top of your hot dogs.

Ingredients

  • Hot dogs
  • Hot dog buns
  • 1/2 onion chopped
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 1/2 can San Marzano tomatoes
  • Cheddar cheese shredded
  • Jalapeños sliced (optional)

Instructions

  • In a pot, drizzle some oil and add the chopped onions. Sauté until translucent. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Cook until browned.
  • Add the tomato paste, seasonings, and San Marzano tomatoes breaking the tomatoes down as they cook. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the chili thickens.
  • Cook the hot dogs in a pan and toast the buns.
  • Place the hot dogs in the buns, top with a generous layer of chili, and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top. Add sliced jalapeños if you want a spicy kick.
