Austin, Texas, has no shortage of incredible bakeries and coffee shops. Whether you are craving fresh pastries, artisan bread, or decadent desserts, these are some of my favorite bakeries in Austin, listed in no particular order. Read to learn where to find the best bakeries in Austin.
Mercado Sin Nombre
Mercado Sin Nombre is a Bib Gourmand–recognized bakery known for its thoughtful sourcing and innovative desserts. They use ingredients sourced from both Mexico and Texas, creating a positive impact on the local community. The bakery is especially loved for its unique masa-based desserts, including their popular masa Twinkies. Standouts include a yellow masa Twinkie filled with orange buttercream and a blue masa Twinkie layered with chocolate ganache and campfire fluff.

Good Things
Good Things is located inside the Fairmont Hotel, where Executive Pastry Chef Christophe Firgara curates an incredible lineup of seasonal pastries. They are especially known for their beautiful specialty croissants. I had the chance to try the lemon meringue croissant, and it was outstanding. The lamination was impeccable—buttery, airy, and delicate—with a perfectly balanced filling. Honestly, these are my favorite croissants in town.

Heaven’s Bistro Bakery
I know that for North Austin folks, most popular bakeries are usually located in Downtown Austin or South Austin, so it is refreshing to have an amazing bakery option in North Austin. Heaven’s Bistro Bakery is a halal French bakery with an extensive menu of baked goods, including croissants, cakes, mousse, cheesecakes, bread, and cookies. I personally believe this bakery has the best almond croissants and chocolate croissants in North Austin.
2205 W Parmer Ln Ste 100, Austin, TX 78727

Whipped Bakery and Cafe
Whipped Bakery and Cafe is an Asian-owned bakery known for its specialty cupcakes. The cupcakes are moist with a light, nicely whipped cream flavor. They offer a diverse range of flavors, with pistachio and strawberry standing out to me. The interior is stunning and makes a great spot for working or studying. A large pink tree sits at the center of the cafe, adding to its charm.
