You need to try strawberry milk sago. Picture this: a gorgeous pink dessert with flavors from the tartness from ripe strawberries, sweetness from strawberry milk, and textures with every spoonful – from the chewiness of sago pearls to the gel-like nata de coco. And let’s not forget the creamy richness from the strawberry milk. Add in loads of ice, and you will have a super refreshing dessert.
What is Sago?
Sago is a starchy substance extracted from palm trees, notably the sago palm. The pearls are translucent and chewy, with a texture similar to tapioca pearls. It is often used in many Asian dishes, but one of the most popular desserts is mango sago, which originated from Hong Kong but is evidently popular in many Asian countries such as Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, and others.
Sago Macronutrients
Sago is predominately a mixture of starch and water, so it lacks other nutrients.
Strawberry Sago Ingredients:
- 1.5 Bingrae Strawberry Milk: You can add more or less, depending on preference. This is my favorite strawberry milk brand.
- 1/2 cup sago
- 1 cup nata de coco: This is a coconut gel naturally created from the fermentation of coconut water.
- 1-3 tbsp condensed milk
- 1 cup strawberries, cut into pieces
