As an instant noodle enthusiast on a caloric deficit, I am always looking for alternatives that can satisfy my instant noodle cravings. When I spotted the Shin Light Instant Noodles at HMart, boasting a bold label of 80% less fat and 20% fewer calories, I knew I had to pick them up. But is the Nongshim Shin Light instant noodles variation really worth the price and effort?

Rating
The Nongshim Shin Light Instant Noodles come in a pack of four. It was priced at $10.99, making each pack around $2.75. That’s pretty steep for instant noodles. What makes these different from the original is that the noodles are air-dried rather than fried. When cooked, I find that the noodles are springy and pair well with the broth.

The broth is just as flavorful as the original but somehow feels lighter. It seems to rely more on anchovy extract for flavor, while the original leans more on beef bone extract. It also comes with a hot seasoning oil that adds extra fragrance.
