Intero Austin is one of the few Italian places I’ve eaten in Austin, and it exceeded my expectations. Each plate was handcrafted with fresh and quality ingredients. Here I will give you my personal Intero review.
About Intero Austin
Intero means “whole” in Italian. Intero emphasizes whole by using only whole local fresh ingredients; they cook based on Texan produce seasonality. Intero gets their meats from a whole animal butchery program. Its mission is to produce zero waste by utilizing all the locally raised animals and locally farmed produce.

House Burrata (8/10): It was creamy, fluffy, and delightful. It practically melted in your mouth. I enjoyed it, but I don’t think the other parts of the dish complemented the burrata well.
Sourdough focaccia ($8, 10/10): It was such a simple dish but amazing! Every component, wildflower honey, garden thyme, and ricotta, complimented each other, and I wanted to order more. The ricotta was so creamy!
Raviolo ($26, 9/10): I thought it was ravioli, but it’s basically one gigantic ravioli. I enjoyed this as well. The braised lamb was flavorful and tender; it did not taste gamey, and I would have ordered more if we didn’t have so much food.
Tortelli ($22, 10/10): This was probably my favorite dish of the night. The Tortelli was creamy with a smokey after-taste. According to the server, the red snapper was smoked for 12 hours, which hid the fishy flavor, and I thought it tasted like meat—it was amazing.
Risotto ($32, 6/10): this was probably the bottom of my list. It was not the typical risotto I am familiar with. The flavors were tart— I was expecting more savory. I was not a fan of the lamb sausage after experiencing the lamb from the Raviolo.
Brown butter cake ($8, 10/10): The cake was soft and light, while the cinnamon gelato and glaze filled each cake’s pocket, making each bite decadent. The pecans gave it the extra depth.
Steamed Manila clams ($18, 8/10): The clams were light and didn’t taste sandy or straight from the sea— if you know what I mean. The tomato-based sauce had a thin consistency.hous
