A kiwi, kiwifruit, or Chinese gooseberry is an edible berry about the size of a large egg. It has a light brown, fuzzy skin on the outside and a soft, tart, and sweet flesh inside. It has a unique taste and various nutritional benefits. It is high in vitamin C and contains a good amount of vitamins K and E. Additionally, it is rich in fiber, potassium, and antioxidants.
Kiwis can be fed to dogs in moderation, and many people suggest removing the skin and seeds. Surprisingly, you can eat the whole kiwi, including the skin; however, I prefer to peel mine! Today, we will teach you how to peel a kiwi.

Storage and Shelf Life
Unpeeled: You can store unpeeled kiwis at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, or in the refrigerator. If you want to ripen your kiwis, keep them at room temperature. Otherwise, store them in the refrigerator to maintain freshness. A ripe kiwi can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Peeled: Store peeled kiwis in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freeze them for longer storage. In the refrigerator, they will last up to two days. Frozen kiwis can last up to three months. To freeze, place them in a resealable or Ziploc bag. When ready to use, thaw them overnight in the refrigerator for even defrosting. Alternatively, you can submerge the resealable bag in a bowl of cold water, changing the water every 30 minutes.
How to tell when a Kiwi is Ripe?
A kiwi is ripe when it is slightly soft to the touch. If it feels mushy, wrinkled, or has visible soft spots, it may be spoiled. If it is too firm, it may not be ripe enough. A quick way to check is by gently squeezing it with your hand or pressing it with your thumb.
