Potatoes come in versatile shapes and sizes, and even more ways to cook them. One of the most fun? Cutting them into a spiral to mimic a tornado. The thin slices get extra crispy, making it a popular Korean street snack. Now, this viral treat has made its way to Costco shelves. Keep reading to see if the Costco tornado potato is worth picking up.

Origin
This tornado potato street food originated in South Korea and was developed by Jeong Eun-suk, the founder of Agriculture Hoeri. The company that created it did not aggressively enforce its IP rights against street vendors, allowing it to spread quickly to other vendors, food stalls, and festivals throughout the country and eventually worldwide. Its visual appeal helped make it popular everywhere.

Costco Tornado Potato Rating and Review
I loved how convenient these were — super easy to prepare. Just pop them in the air fryer for about 8 minutes. My air fryer could fit two skewers at a time, though smaller ones may struggle to fit them flat. The batter was thin and crispy, and the potatoes were evenly cut along the skewer. The only downside: you can barely taste any seasoning. You will definitely want ketchup or another dipping sauce. Because of the lack of seasoning, I did take off a few points from my rating.
