I came across a jumbo bag of Ripvan Chocolate Hazelnut Wafers at Costco and couldn’t resist grabbing it. As someone on a health kick, I am always on the lookout for better-for-you sweet treats—and these wafers claim to be keto-friendly, vegan, and low in sugar. Ripvan has reimagined the classic wafer, and I had to see if they lived up to the hype. Here’s my honest review of the Costco-sized Ripvan Chocolate Hazelnut Wafers.

Ripvan Chocolate Hazelnut Wafers Overview
Each bag comes with 24 individually wrapped wafers and costs $13.99. These wafers are made by Rip Van, one of the fastest-growing grocery brands on Amazon in 2020. The company focuses on creating healthier snack options with lower sugar and non-GMO ingredients.

Rating and Review
Although the wafer has a nice crunch, it’s not as soft and airy as traditional wafers. The texture is firmer, which means it doesn’t crumble or make a mess when you take a bite. There are three wafer layers and two chocolate-hazelnut filling layers. The chocolate hazelnut flavor is subtle, and overall, the taste leans more on the bland side. Keep in mind, though, that each wafer only has 3g of sugar, so that is understandable. Personally, I don’t enjoy overly sweet snacks, so I appreciated that the sweetness wasn’t overpowering. I also love that it’s made with simple ingredients, with the main ones being palm fruit oil, hazelnut, and sugar beet. I would purchase these again.
