I was walking through the snack aisles at Costco, as one does when hungry and searching for interesting snacks, when I came across these Premium Dark Chocolate Cookie Butter Cups by Jelina Chocolatier. They caught my eye because I’ve always been a fan of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups ever since I was a child. I have such fond memories of trick-or-treating and getting those mini Reese’s—if you know, you know! Ever since then, I’ve been hooked. I expected the Costco Premium Dark Chocolate Cookie Butter Cups to be a hit for me because, honestly, you can’t go wrong with chocolate and cookie butter, right?

Product History and Heritage
The history of chocolate cups dates back to the invention of Peanut Butter Cups by Reese’s in 1928. Reese’s is an American candy brand owned by The Hershey Company, which produces several other popular confections.
H.B. Reese, a former employee of The Hershey Company, founded his own candy business, H.B. Reese Candy Company, in 1923. At the time, Reese used Hershey’s chocolate for all his confections, and the peanut butter cups we know and love today were originally called “Penny Cups” because they were sold for just one cent!
Fun fact: Did you know that Reese’s also makes Kit Kat? (Another one of my favorites!)
Costco Premium Dark Chocolate Cookie Butter Cups Review
The Jelina Chocolatier Premium Dark Chocolate Cookie Butter Cups take on the iconic shape of a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup but in a smaller size. Instead of peanut butter, they are filled with a crunchy, airy speculoos cookie butter.

Costco Premium Dark Chocolate Cookie Butter Cups Rating and Review
Taste/Quality: The dark chocolate was smooth and decadent. The cookie butter had speckles of crunchy bits while still being smooth and creamy. There was a slight caramel flavor in the filling, and it wasn’t too sweet, which kept me coming back for more!
Packaging: The Costco Premium Dark Chocolate Cookie Butter Cups were not individually wrapped, which I liked. I’m all for less plastic waste. All the pieces were contained in the bag you see.
Value for Money: Overall, it is a premium product with a premium price tag. However, you get a good amount of cookie cups. I have yet to finish mine, and it’s been a couple of weeks.

Pros:
- Not too sweet
- Satisfies sugar cravings
- Comes in a resealable bag
Cons:
- Not peanut butter (so don’t be disappointed!)
Recommendation: Overall, I recommend this product. It’s not too sweet and features dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. It’s an interesting rendition of the classic Reese’s peanut butter cups. I didn’t feel as guilty eating these cookie butter cups, and they satisfied my sweet tooth cravings!
