If you’re looking for a short weekend Asian food tour in Dallas, Texas, I have the best Asian food spots for you. These are some of my favorite spots, long before Mikey Chen even mentioned these glorious food spots on his YouTube channel. The best Asian food spots list is diverse as it includes fried chicken, Korean BBQ, Chinese food, Korean noodles, and boba tea.
Best Asian Food Spots Pick: Mike’s Chicken
Price ($): ~$8.00 (one leg and one thigh with two sides and a biscuit)
One of the best Asian food spots is surprisingly a fried chicken spot. Right next to a laundromat is a hole-in-the-wall — Mike’s Chicken. The outer chicken coating mimics the crackle of pork rinds. Every bite becomes a real-life ASMR moment. With confidence, I can say that this is one of the best fried chicken spots out there. It is not exactly “Asian,” but it is a Vietnamese-owned restaurant named after their picky son Mike. Who would have thought?
Best Asian Food (Korean): Ari’s KBBQ
Price ($$): $60 Small (2 people) Thin slices of prime brisket, bulgogi, boneless prime short rib, marinated rib finger meat, side dishes, steamed egg, bean stew, and corn cheese.
My motto for KBBQ is quality over quantity and this place did not disappoint. The meats were all quality. Even the side stars, the banchon, were seasoned perfectly. It wasn’t too sour; it was fermented just right. Everything was perfect. I love that there was a little moat of steamed egg and corned cheese on the outer ring of the grill. It cuts through the heaviness of the meat when you alternate each bite with a spoonful of eggs.
Wu Wei Din Chinese Cuisine
Price ($$): $9.50 for a bowl of Dan Dan noodles with Pork
Hands down, the best Dan Dan noodles out there. The al dente thick noodles embrace the sweet and savory peanut buttery sauce like a warm hug.
Best Asian Food (Korean): KOOKSOO
Price ($$): $19.95 for a bowl of King Ribs Jjam Ppong
The noodles were cooked to perfection. The broth had so much flavor with a small spicy kick. The ribs fell off the bone and the shrimp was super meaty.
Mogee Tea
Price ($): $5.75 for the Creme Brulee Milk Tea Drink and 7.25 for the Cheese Foam Mango Tea
They pride themselves on quality ingredients. There are no artificial syrups or powders in their boba drink selection. I ordered the Creme Brûlée Milk Tea, which resembled Happy Lemon’s Cream Puff Milk Tea. I highly recommend their mango boba drinks especially when mangos are in season. It’s fruity and creamy.
