What is a Margarita?
The margarita is a classic tequila-based cocktail that is rumored to have originated in Tijuana, Mexico, in the 1930s, created by a bartender. According to legend, the bartender crafted the drink for a customer who was allergic to most spirits except tequila. Margaritas are made with tequila, lime juice, and triple sec. The drink is often served with a salted rim, which goes well with the sourness of the lime juice and the sweetness of the triple sec.
