S’mores Origin
S’mores are an all-American classic dessert that originated in the early 20th century. They feature three simple ingredients: chocolate, graham crackers, and fluffy marshmallows. This treat became popular around campfires because it was easy to make and didn’t require special equipment. The name originally came from “some more,” referring to how you can’t stop at just one, and it was eventually shortened to “s’mores.”

Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Melt the butter and chocolate chips together using a double boiler or microwave. Stir until smooth, then set aside.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Add the melted chocolate mixture and fold until fully incorporated.

Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gently fold into the egg mixture.

Line the bottom of your baking pan with graham crackers.

Pour the brownie batter over the graham cracker layer and smooth it out.

Bake for 25 minutes or until the center is set.
Remove from the oven and top with marshmallows.

Broil for 1–2 minutes, just until the marshmallows are golden brown. Watch closely to prevent burning!

Finish with Hershey’s chocolate pieces and crushed graham crackers on top.

Let cool slightly, slice, and enjoy!

S’mores Brownies Tips
- Do not overmix the batter. If you overmix, the brownies will come out dry.
- If you want a more fudgy brownie, use less flour.
- Use a mix of brown and white sugar for a more chewy brownie. The brown sugar introduces more moisture.
- For a richer taste, you can add around 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp espresso powder.
- When inserting a toothpick to check if the brownies are done, look for wet crumbs. If the toothpick comes out dry, the brownies are overbaked.
