I noticed so many new Asian snacks popping up at Costco lately! It is an amazing sight to see. Maybe it’s because Lunar New Year is just around the corner. Either way, when I spotted these adorable panda-shaped custard buns in the freezer section, I had to grab a box. Are you curious to see if they are worth the hype? Read on for my full Costco Panda Custard Buns review.

What are Custard Buns
Custard buns are pillowy-soft steamed buns filled with a creamy, sweet custard. The filling is typically made with sugar, egg yolks, and milk. They’re commonly found in Asian bakeries and at many Chinese dim sum spots.
Costco Panda Custard Buns Review
I highly recommend the Costco Panda Custard Buns! They were $13.99, and you get two trays, each containing 12 buns, for 24 adorable panda-shaped buns. The buns were soft and pillowy, while the filling was creamy and smooth—not overly sweet. I feel like they would have been perfect with a bit more filling. I followed the steaming method, so I am not sure how they would turn out in the microwave.
